Dear Battalion Viewer...

More info on our upcoming series:

You can learn more about this Department at http://www.centralpiercefire.org and the photo is of Engine 66 as they teach fire safety.

DVD Purchase

darren.miller — Sun, 03/28/2010 - 22:25

David:

I see your DVD's as a great way for me to start preparing for a possible career change.  I recently applied to become a H-2 Firefighter with the SFFD.  What better way to learn about the day in and day out realities of the job than by watching your series.

You do great film work, and I love your webisodes/TV series.  Keep up the good work and great filming.  Thank you.

DM - San Francisco

Coming to the Battalion-Central Pierce Fire & Rescue

Tulefog — Sun, 03/28/2010 - 17:38

Dear Battalion Viewers,

Coming in April: Central Pierce Fire & Rescue.

The Battalion - The Series, was looking for a department to film for it’s first series in the Northwest. Through the efforts of Pierce Manufacturing, and its Dealer Huges Fire Equipment http://www.hughesfire.com in Springfield Oregon, we were guided in the direction of Central Pierce Fire & Rescue; and what a great direction it was...

This is really a department that was merged together and what a great job they do at saving lives and protecting their citizens, and they always do it with a smile.

Central Pierce Fire & Rescue (also known as Pierce County Fire District 6) was formed in 1996, following a merger of Fire District 6 (Parkland/Midland), Fire District 7 (Spanaway) and Fire District 9 (Summit/South Hill).

Dear Battalion Viewers,

I know you all want to see fires, but to me this is as cool and more important than fires...it's about something very special between a father and son.

Stay tuned to this Tulefog Blog; starting tomorrow we will begin to introduce you to our first series in the Northwest with Central Pierce County Fire & Rescue...

Announcement: we will have a booth at FDIC, more to come...

Be safe.

Sincerely,

David

Low cost training with Tampa Fire Rescue tonight at 7:00

Tulefog — Sat, 03/20/2010 - 19:42

Dear Battalion Viewers,

Tonight, at 7:00PM PST; is our last webisode on training, just for now, and it's with Tampa Fire Rescue.

This department knows how to save money and one way was to build their own training aids and to find buildings that they can use for a period of time.

Many Departments across the Country have little or no funds for training.

What I learned from Tampa Fire Rescue in this webisode is how to use recycled materials to build training aids that help save the lives of firefighters.

We hope to bring a lot more training webisodes to you in the future and eventually set them all up in our Training Section.

Next week will be our first webisode on a firefighters family tradition.

Be safe.

Sincerely,

DRF

Training on the Battalion with D.C. Fire and EMS...

Tulefog — Sat, 03/13/2010 - 21:40

<!--Session data-->Dear Battalion Viewers,

Tonight, we continue with our Training mini-series.

Last week we saw the members of Engine 35 and Truck 35 perform their daily training, and they stepped it up a notch.

San Diego Fire Rescue's Union did them a solid by making an hour a day of physical training part of their contract and it shows. These guys even eat healty food now...

I just returned from filming with Pierce County Fire & Rescue near Tacoma Washington; here is another department that is doing a great job.

This series will be very informative in many ways. Many of the orginal firefighters still with the Department will talk about the old days when they had single man engine companies, I was amazed. ...Read more
