No Fires in the last webisode???

Dear Battalion Viewers,
I have received some emails in regard to our latest webisode and I wanted to answer the question about no fire in this last webisode. This series is about the people that put their life on the line every day…
...a first responder puts their life on the line on each and every medical call.
If you checked out the San Francisco Series, you may remember a webisode that the first responders were on a medical call and the guy was laying in the hall upside down and passed out in a rat hole hotel. They turned him over and he spewed all over the place. It turned out that he had Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B and other diseases and the crew had to go and burn their clothes, get shots, and be monitored to see if they contracted any disease…Medical Calls can be deadly.
During our filming at the old Engine 10 Station House last year we filmed with all four Platoons 24/7. During the filming with this Platoon, not a lot happened, but we wanted to introduce you to these first responders now so as you will know them in future webisodes.
It takes two webisodes just to introduce you to both crews from the Engine and Truck on a tour and we have one more engine 10 company and a Truck 17 crew to introduce to you in the future.
When we return, we will be back with the second half of the tour with Engine 4 from D.C. Fire and EMS…night moves.
We are in discussions with one of the largest departments on the West Coast for a new series and hope to be in other parts of the country in the future; this all depends on the economy and the support from sponsors.
More to come...
Be safe.
Sincerely,
DRF

I love the way this program
squadee2 — Wed, 03/04/2009 - 00:09I love the way this program is put together, very professional! but I learned after watching this is not a program for FIREMEN! it is for EMT's and Paramedics that ride on fire rigs, its a real shame you could not go to cities like DETROIT, CHICAGO, GARY, CAMDEN, NEWARK some of the busiest firefighting companies in the world, with some of the most hard core firemen around the country instead of some of those young wannabeTHUG looking guys from DC 10 What a disgrace to the tradition! the officer should be ashamed to allow that look!! but seriously Dave you do a great job with what you have to work with.
This program is
nayr1010 — Fri, 03/06/2009 - 06:04This program is great and it is not all about the fires and the calls. It's the things you dont always see their lives. What they think. How they feel. Graetest Series I've Ever Seen.

nayr1010 hit the nail on the head with their comment. I tend to wonder about the motives of the members who were "disappointed" that there were not any fires in the last webisode. This is not a website for "chasing engines" or oggling fires. If that is your interest (as opposed to learning about the profession and the people in it) I am sure there is some other site out there for people with your proclivities.
For those of us who are serious about the profession and respectful of the people on the job--God Bless
and Never Forget.
