Dear Viewers,

I am back from a 48 hour tour with the crew of Engine 43 of the San Francisco Strike Team.

This team of firefighters are on Type 1 Engines and are brought in to protect structures after the devestation; and they did a great job.

This was my first time with a strike team and I got a lot of great footage of all the firefighters at base camp and what goes on with thousands of firefighters waiting to be deployed.

I did not see any big fires myself, but as you know, this series is about firefighters and not just fire.

We are not a news show and you can see fire on the news but they never show or talk about the firefighters.

I found it very interesting to be with this strike team and to learn what it is about and why this strke team is brought in.

You will see some of the devestation to homes and you will see how thankful the home owners are to the firefighters that watch over their homes making sure the fire does not raise it's ugly head again after it has come through and devestated peoples lives...

I would like to thank Chief Joanne Hayes-White and everyone with the San Francisco Fire Department for helping me get with the team on such short notice.

I would like to thank Battalion Chief Mike Kerney for allowing me to join up with the team when they arrived at the first base camp and putting me with Captain Michael Castagnola and the crew on Engine 43...I learned a lot and I am now ready for the next one.

This webisode will be one of the first new webisdoes in our Wild Land Fire Series sometime in late December.

It's not always about taming the beast but sometimes just being there to hold a victims hand...
