One has to be of a certain age to remember the TV show "Emergency!", and there is no way of knowing just how many people went into firefighting and/or paramedic careers because of this show. In May of 2000, I had the pleasure to see one of the actual "Squad 51" vehicles at the City of Chicago's Firefighting Academy, as it was on its way to being donated to the Smithsonian. edwin — Thu, 03/11/2010 - 05:23Randy Mantooth made a surprise appearance at the opening ceremonies on Friday, March 24th. Nearly 2,000 attendees gave Randy Mantooth a standing ovation. On Saturday and Sunday, Randy greeted fans at the Project 51 booth, signing autographs, posing for photos, and listening to many stories about how he and "Emergency!" inspired the career choices of paramedics, nurses, firefighters and even a few physicians. A great shared web hosting was had by all.
